Colors of Lupita Nyong'o

Hello My fierce readers,

February should not be the only month we celebrate our different shades of black. I am so happy for this young woman whose name has been circulating the media for the past three months or so- Lupita Nyong'o. Born in Mexico, raised in Kenya, this beauty has won many awards on her supporting role in 12 years a slave. I remember the first post I read about her last year as she was referred as "Hollywood's New It Girl". I was in awe at her chocolate brown skin and how beautiful she looked in a bright yellow dress.

After watching many of her interviews, I believe, it's God's true blessing to have blessed her the way he did this past few months. I also believe that when it's truly time for you to shine, NOTHING absolutely NOTHING will hold that back from happening. Its nice to see a beautiful brown girl be an aspiration to many young girls of color, making them believe that they are beautiful just the way they are. And this is no different for someone like me who is a little on the medium shade side but still feels insecure about my skintone sometimes.

Most importantly, Lupita just shows a young woman who pursued her dreams from childhood and God blessed her when the time was appropriate. She seem very humble and honored for how much she has been blessed and that's all that matters.

Re Bahia Spring/Summer Collection

Hello My Fierce Reader,

Today I'm sharing with you the spring/summer collection of a Nigerian designer called Orire Omatsola. I saw her collection floating all over instagram last week and I just fell in love with every single pieces. This collection is called "Minimal dreams" and I believe the name absolutely suits the collection very well. I mentioned in my last post, my obsession with different fabrics. This collection is giving me lots of soft chiffon and mesh material for the spring and summer.

MIXED TEXTURES AND A LITTLE PERSONALITY

Hello My fierce Readers,

This is my first post this year and I hope everyone is enjoying what the New year has to offer.

Do you have any New Year Resolutions? Are you planning on doing anything new or different this year?

Last year was a long, lesson learning year for me and I have to give all glory to God for guiding me.

I stopped making New New year resolutions a few years ago when I really started questioning myself about more things that God might want from me. So every year,I ask that I get to know God better and in the past few years, I have asked God to teach me how to love....the right way.

STYLE-WISE, I have always loved trying new trends in fashion and making it my own (because that's what makes it unique right?)

Well this year, I have decided to play with mixing a lot of textures.

I grew up in a household of my parents sewing, so I was very exposed to different textures of fabric.

In fact, I am very obsessed with fabric textures and so it is sometimes hard for me to shop because I get really picky when trying on classic pieces to add to my wardrobe.

With this outfit, I was able to play with a combination of

Chiffon (Pants)- Forever 21

CURRENT FAVORITE DRESS (Inspired by the Nini Circle dress)

Hello My fierce readers,

Today I'm sharing with you all one of my favorite dress inspired by a blogger I really look up to. I am talking about the Nini Nguyen of ninistyle HERE. Her story about how she got into the fashion industry from being an immigrant from Vietnam is quite inspiring. I really love to hear people's success story because it inspires others to see that dreams can come true if you work hard and commit those dreams into God's hands.

I have shared and styled this dress HERE on the blog with a darker look. However, in this post, I restyled the same dress with some bright neon yellow wedges by Micheal Antonio. I hope you enjoyed!

A compilation of what I wore this Summer

Hello My Fierce Readers,

Since I didn't get a chance to post throughout the summer, I thought, I'll share with you all some of my summer outfits. As we say goodbye to the sunny months (My favorite time of the year), I hope you all stay warm, stay healthy and keep looking Fierce.

Haute Color and Rich Textures- Alexander McQueen Collection Fall 2013

Hello my Fierce Readers,

Yes, I understand its a little late to post Fall 2013 collections in the fashion world but why not when it's already Fall season.

Alexander Mcqueen is a designer I always thought had androgynous designs, mixing feminine and masculine pieces in a dark, sexy and unique way. The designer's 2013 Fall Collection is absolutely fabulous with detailed cuts, embroidery and embellishments. All of the designs includes velvet (very popular this season), full skirt, full sleeve blouse and baroque prints.....I JUST LOVE THEM ALL!!!

Personally, I've always loved the dark fall colors like black, oxblood and burgundy but I'm also loving the monochromatic all white or the classic black and white look transitioning from fall into winter. So I am hoping to incorporate these colors this fall and also look out for some pieces I can add to my closet and continue to use in the long run.
